Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitateak bat egin du, 2018 honetan, Giza Eskubideen Adierazpen Unibertsalaren hirurogeita hamargarren urteurrenarekin. Adierazpen hura mugarri bat izan zen, ikuspegi juridikotik eta etikotik begiratuta, gizateriaren historian. Liburu honekin, unibertsitateak jasangarritasun sozialarekin duen konpromiso saihetsezina dela eta, giza eskubideen kultura zaintzeko tentsio proaktiboa erakutsi nahi dugu, eta horri eutsi. Xede horrekin, giza eskubideen gaineko zenbait begirada bildu ditugu. Haietan, jakintza-arlo askotako hogeita hamar irakaslek eskubide horietako bakoitzari begiratu diote eta hura interpretatu dute, diziplinaz gaindikoak direla islatuz; jakintzaren alderdi guztietatik begiratuta dira egoki, kultura unibertsalaren parte gisa. La Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea se suma a la conmemoración en el año 2018 del septuagésimo aniversario de la aprobación de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, un hito jurídico y ético en la historia de la humanidad. Con este libro se pretende mostrar y mantener, desde el ineludible compromiso universitario con la sostenibilidad social, una tensión vigilante y proactiva hacia la cultura de los derechos humanos. Con este objetivo se han unido diferentes miradas a los derechos humanos. Así, treinta profesores y profesoras, de diferentes ámbitos académicos, miran e interpretan cada uno de estos derechos, reflejando que trascienden las disciplinas; son apropiados desde todos los ángulos del saber como parte de la cultura universal. Por otra parte, treinta profesionales del diseño gráfico del País Vasco los miran y expresan a través de la sensibilidad artística, superando los límites que confinan al potencial argumentativo de la palabra; algo que permite penetrar en los niveles latentes de la realidad que entrañan los derechos humanos.

The University of the Basque Country (Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea) joins the 2018 celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the approval of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a legal and ethical milestone in the history of humankind. This book seeks to manifest and uphold a vigilant, proactive tension with regard to the culture of human rights based on the ineluctable university commitment to social sustainability. To this end, different perspectives on human rights have been put together. Thirty faculty members from different academic fields view and interpret each of these rights, reflecting how they cut across the disciplines; how they properly form part of the universal culture from all angles of knowledge. On the other hand, thirty graphic design professionals of the Basque Country view and express them in terms of artistic sensitivity, overcoming the confines of the argumentative potential of words and facilitating penetration into the latent levels of the reality that human rights involve.
